THE Tigers raised the hope of creating history against New Zealand in the second match, but they lost the match ultimately and lost the ODI series. Their dramatic batting collapse handed down an easy victory for the hosts. As an ardent fan of Bangladesh cricket, I was very upset to see the defeat. But I was glad to see Bangladesh bowling lineup firing and restricting NZ to 251.
We must keep in mind that playing in that condition is not at all easy, so we must give some credit to the Bangladesh team for playing good cricket there. Teams like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka struggled there. But our batting lineup could not rise up to New Zealand bowling attack and all good works of Mashrafee, Shakib and Taskin went in vain. In batting only Imrul and Sabbir played well with some authority but the rest came and went away. Now the Tigers have one more match to play, although they have lost the series, they will be able to salvage some pride if they play well. There is much to gain from the 3rd match. I am still hopeful that the Tigers will bounce back from their disappointing loss and play much better in their upcoming game.
